What 42,293 CMS-Matched Care Records Add to Our Directory

· Guide · 2 min read

Our latest healthcare-directory data update added 42,293 facility profiles with one dated certification evidence claim per profile. The records cover seven categories: hospitals, nursing homes, hospice providers, dialysis facilities, home-health agencies, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long-term care hospitals.

We did not treat a similar name as enough to merge a federal row into a directory profile. The import required an exact CMS Certification Number (CCN) and agreement on the full facility location, including street, unit where present, city, state, and ZIP. The certification/status check used the CMS Provider of Services quarterly file for Q2 2026. Rows that failed the exact identity or location gate remained held rather than being forced into a match.

Why the location match matters

Large health systems can share names across multiple facilities. A record for one hospital or nursing home should not silently attach to a different building with a similar brand name. Requiring both the CCN and complete address match makes the evidence more specific to the facility represented by the profile.

After the import, the directory verified all 42,293 profiles and claims against the source manifest. The sitemap contains the new profile URLs, and sample profile, evidence, category, and city routes were checked. These are technical and data-integrity checks; they do not prove that Google or an AI answer engine has indexed or cited a page.

What the record does—and does not—tell you

A CMS certification or listing record is a useful reference point for facility identity and the source’s status as of its reporting period. It is not a real-time appointment system or a substitute for asking a provider about services, staffing, insurance, accessibility, referral requirements, or current availability. The CMS source also does not supply a website for every facility class, and a listed phone number is source-reported rather than independently tested.

Use the directory to explore providers by city and the relevant care category, then confirm details with the facility and check the original CMS data sources. We aim to make the evidence trail clear enough that readers can see both what is documented and what still needs a direct check.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of facilities were added?
The update spans hospitals, nursing homes, hospice providers, dialysis facilities, home-health agencies, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long-term care hospitals.
What does the CMS match confirm?
The import required an exact CCN and matching full facility location against the Q2 2026 Provider of Services data for the eligible record.
Does a CMS listing guarantee current service availability or quality?
No. It is a dated certification/status source match and does not establish today's availability, appointment access, quality outcomes, or patient fit.
